MSI, Materials Science International Services GmbH

MSI, Materials Science International Services GmbH is a global research & publishing infrastructure in the field of materials science. MSI was founded 1989 by Günter Effenberg, as a spin-off from Max-Plank-Institute for Metals Research, Stuttgart. MSI has a strong commitment to data quality and transparency in materials constitution.

The MSI mission is to simplify science:

  • keeping its customers and partners current with the ongoing research
  • validating information, making it transparent, interpretable and maintain the knowledge accessible.

Together with MSIT®, the Materials Science International Team,  MSI performs the world largest evaluation program on constitutional data, running since 1984. Today MSI & MSIT form the largest network in the field of materials constitution.

The results of this global teamwork are published in about 60 books or handbooks and electronically in the MSI Eureka.
